Mockingbirds

C'est cinq musicien(e)s réunis autour de la même envie de créer un univers Rock Anglo-Saxon saupoudré de notes seventies... le tout mâtiné d’un certain humour décalé.
Pour les amateurs de Wilco, Ben Harper, PJ Harvey, Doors et bien d’autres...
Petite histoire : Ce projet naît des cendres du groupe "Pop en stock" formé en octobre 2006 autour du trio : Riky (chant/guitare), Vince (basse) et Joce (batterie). Le groupe enregistrera 8 titres afin de réaliser un album/démo résolument orientée pop/rock.

 

En 2009, avec l'arrivée de Rosy au chant, de Romain au saxophone et de Stef à la basse, legroupe enregistrera son album "Jackard Loom" fin 2010. Cette configuration aura comme point d'orgue la sélection aux France Ô Folies, tremplin pour les Francofolies de La Rochelle...
s'en suivra un passage télévisé sur France Ô en mai 2011 de la prestation réalisée aux "Cuizines" de Chelles. Après le départ de Vincent et de Rosy courant 2012, Pop en Stock mettra fin à son aventure après une quarantaine de concerts et 2 albums...

 

Après plusieurs années, dans un esprit de création et de renouveau, les musiciens se retrouvent avec Nadège au chant (depuis 2017), Riky à la guitare/chant, Vince à la guitare (de retour !), Romain à la basse et saxo, Joce à la batterie...
MOCKINGBIRDS prend son envol en 2021 et travaille sur de nouvelles compositions et de nouvelles blagues. Le groupe sort sont premier Ep en cette fin d’année 2022.

Five musicians united by a shared desire to create a British-inspired rock universe, sprinkled with seventies vibes… all laced with a touch of quirky humor.

A bit of history : This project rose from the ashes of the band Pop en Stock, formed in October 2006 around the trio of Riky (vocals/guitar), Vince (bass), and Joce (drums). The group recorded 8 tracks with the aim of producing a demo album, strongly influenced by pop/rock sounds.

 

In 2009, with the arrival of Rosy on vocals, Romain on saxophone, and Stef on bass, the band recorded their album Jackard Loom at the end of 2010. The highlight of this lineup was being selected for France Ô Folies, a springboard event for the Francofolies festival in La Rochelle.
This was followed by a televised performance broadcast on France Ô in May 2011, recorded at Les Cuizines in Chelles. After the departure of Vincent and Rosy in 2012, Pop en Stock ended its journey after about forty concerts and two albums.

 

After several years, driven by a spirit of creativity and renewal, the musicians came together again—this time with Nadège on vocals (since 2017), Riky on guitar/vocals, Vince on guitar (back again!), Romain on bass and saxophone, and Joce on drums.

MOCKINGBIRDS took flight in 2021, working on new compositions… and new jokes. The band released its first EP at the end of 2022.
